The Steelers have announced the dates for their annual rookie minicamp, which will be held May 13-15 at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, the team released on Monday.

Each year, the Steelers hold their minicamp to get the rookies acclimated. They will invite multiple rookies to the minicamp that they did not sign to the active 90-man roster to try and find a gem that way. For example, Devlin “Duck” Hodges was signed to the active roster after a rookie minicamp tryout.

it will be the first time that first-round pick Kenny Pickett puts on a Steelers jersey in any fashion. In addition, all the rookies will receive their playbooks and go through walk-throughs to install the playbook. It is the first step for the Steelers in the offseason summer program as they ramp up to OTAs then mandatory minicamp, and then finally, training camp as a whole.

The Steelers will be looking to see who can catch onto the playbook and concepts quickly. Rookies, especially those that are undrafted, can quickly endear themselves to coaches and the organization with a strong few days at rookie minicamp.
