Pittsburgh Steelers Locked on Steelers Terrell Edmunds Minkah Fitzpatrick Chris Carter

Steelers Now reporter Chris Carter digs deep on the Pittsburgh Steelers and the NFL Monday through Friday all year long on Locked on Steelers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers won’t be looking for a replacement for Terrell Edmunds anytime soon because of how well he pairs with Minkah Fitzpatrick. Sure, Edmunds doesn’t make a ton of splash plays with interceptions, but he’s gotten better at picking off quarterbacks with four in the last two seasons. But a big factor for Edmunds’ role is still how well he combines size with speed, quickness and burst to cover various offensive positions like wide receiver, running back and tight ends.

That will still keep Edmunds as a starter over Damontae Kazee and Karl Joseph, but it doesn’t mean a training camp battle won’t happen under Mike Tomlin. Also, should the Steelers look at Troy Polamalu’s nephewe Isaiah Pola-Mao? And should they kick the tires on free agent and former first round pick offensive tackle Isaiah Wilson?

Finally, more fan questions ask about the best time to visit Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA for Steelers training camp, and learn about how the Steelers pick team captains and who Chris Carter predicts to be team captains for the 2022 season.
