Practice Report: Steelers Get Best of Bills, Russ to Start
Pittsburgh Steelers Practice Report: The Steelers offense shined against the Buffalo Bills, and Russell Wilson will start the second preseason game.
UNITY TWP., Pa. — The Pittsburgh Steelers had a joint practice with the Buffalo Bills at Acrisure Stadium on Thursday, and Alan Saunders and Chris Ward of Steelers Now was there to break it all down.
The team’s first joint practice in eight years was physical and competitive, and there was just one minor dust-up involving Zach Frazier after a Steelers lineman was knocked into Justin Fields.
The Steelers got the better of the major competitive periods, as both offenses won their respective seven shots periods, 4-3, but Pittsburgh swept the practice-closing two-minute drills, with Fields scoring on a long run and Cory Trice Jr. getting the winning pass breakup.
Finally, head coach Mike Tomlin announced that Russell Wilson will start the second preseason game, and that the starters will play about four series on Saturday night.
