Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson suffered a left knee injury late in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos and has been ruled out indefinitely. Jackson got sacked by outside linebacker Jonathan Cooper and landed on his left knee awkwardly. Tyler Huntley took over at quarterback with the Ravens trailing 3-0. On his first drive, Huntley led the Ravens on a 10-play, 62-yard drive that concluded with a 26-yard field goal by Justin Tucker to tie the game at 3-3. After trading possessions, Brandon McManus kicked a 41-yard field goal to give the Broncos a 6-3 lead at halftime.

Jackson was sacked three times in the first quarter and completed three of four passes for only 11 yards. Jackson rushed for nine yards on one carry. In relief, Huntley completed 10 of 14 passes for 85 yards.

Per former San Diego Chargers head team doctor David J. Chao, Jackson may have suffered a PCL strain when his left knee jammed into the ground. Jackson walked to the locker room on his own.

Chao states that it’s possible Jackson just has a knee contusion, but either way it will be difficult to return and play effectively. He could return with a brace, but that would limit his mobility. The Ravens play the Steelers in Week 14 at Acrisure Stadium.
