Report: Aaron Rodgers Seeking Massive Contract from Steelers, Giants

Aaron Rodgers would prefer to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the two sides have not come up with a contract deal yet and the New York Giants remain in the mix, according to a report on Monday night by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, who dropped a bombshell about how much Rodgers could be asking for.
Rodgers and the Steelers remain engaged in contract talks, but the Steelers have not made an offer that was enticing enough for him to turn away from New York and accept, per Florio.
“The Giants could still snatch him by making the kind of financial offer that isn’t in the same ballpark as where the Steelers are,” Florio said. “I don’t know where the Steelers are going to be. Earlier today, we had a semi-educated guess of two year, $90 million with $40 million fully guaranteed at signing.”

That would be a significant raise over the $38 million Rodgers made with the Jets last year and the $37.5 million he was scheduled to earn for them this year. It would tie Rodgers as the 12th-highest paid quarterback in the NFL with Kirk Cousins and Patrick Mahomes.
With just the Steelers and Giants remaining in bidding for Rodgers’ services, it seems awfully unlikely that he would be able to secure such a raise over his last deal.
Florio also reported that Rodgers is seeking a two-year deal.
The Steelers chose not to match contract deals worth $20 million per season for Justin Fields and $33 million per season for Sam Darnold, so they are likely not looking to be big spenders on a bridge deal at quarterback.
Rodgers has not yet officially been released by the Jets. That is expected to happen on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The Jets need to wait
