Report: Falcons Deal Julio Jones to Titans

The Atlanta Falcons are reportedly trading star wide receiver Julio Jones to the Tennessee Titans, according to multiple reports.

Atlanta will receive a 2022 second-round pick and a 2023 fourth-round selection in exchange for Jones. Tennessee will also get a sixth-round pick in 2023. The trade will likely become official Monday.

In addition, the Falcons will not pick up any of Jones’ $15.3 million base salary for 2021. The Titans will inherit his entire contract.

The 32-year-old Jones is due $11.5 million over each of the next two seasons and will become an unrestricted free agent in 2024.

Tennessee had been one of the front runners to acquire Jones’ services all along, and will now surround quarterback Ryan Tannehill with a fearsome trio of weapons that also includes wideout A.J. Brown and last season’s rushing leader Derrick Henry.

Selected by Atlanta with the sixth pick of the 2011 NFL Draft, Jones was a seven-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro with the Falcons.

He caught 848 passes for 12,896 yards and 60 touchdowns, and is the all-time franchise leader in receptions and receiving yards.

The explosive Titans will visit the Steelers at Heinz Field in Week 15, a 1 p.m. kick on KDKA-TV.

Jones has played just a single game against Pittsburgh in his career. He caught five passes for 62 yards in a 41-17 defeat at the hands of the Steelers back in 2018.
