Report: Former Steelers Fullback Roosevelt Nix Signing with Colts

A Pittsburgh fan-favorite has found a new home.

Former Steelers fullback Roosevelt Nix is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts, according to ESPN’s Jordan Shultz.

Nix, 28, spent five seasons in Pittsburgh, earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2017. He had just two touchdowns – one rushing, one receiving – over his Steeler career, but Nix’s true impact was as a lead blocker and star on special teams.

Nix missed the majority of the 2019 season with a knee injury before eventually being played on the injured reserve list. He hadn’t missed a game the previous two seasons.

The writing was on the wall that Nix and the Steelers would be parting ways when the team signed former Chargers fullback Derek Watt last month.

Adding Nix will boost an already strong Colts rushing attack that ran for the seventh-most yards in the league last season.
