Report: Steelers, Aaron Rodgers Maintain Dialogue with No Timetable Set
Insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic says the Pittsburgh Steelers and Aaron Rodgers have remained in contact.

The Pittsburgh Steelers seem more destined than ever to land free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers after passing on Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday night.
Insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic hints that’s a safe bet to make, despite the two sides having yet to set a deadline.
“The Steelers and Aaron Rodgers are continuing to maintain dialogue as the team waits on the future Hall of Famer’s free agency decision, a source tells me,” Russini posted on X. “No timetable has been set by either side.”
It remains to be seen when Rodgers plans to make his decision. He didn’t provide any more insight as to when that could come during his recent appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
The four-time NFL MVP said he has been focused on dealing with personal matters this offseason.
“Right now my focus is, and has been, and will continue to be on my personal life,” Rodgers said.
However, head coach Mike Tomlin said Rodgers will not impact the team’s draft strategy. While the Steelers didn’t go quarterback in Round 1, general manager Omar Khan said they are more the confident in their choice.
“We were on the clock and we got the player that we wanted,” he said.

Pittsburgh is still in the market for another quarterback, even if it does eventually land Rodgers. Khan said the team is going to add at least two more players to the room before training camp.
That player could very well come via the No. 83 overall pick in the third round or No. 123 overall pick in the fourth.
