Is Russell Wilson’s Calf Injury a Big Deal for the Steelers?
Russell Wilson has missed the first four Pittsburgh Steelers training camp practices after an injury pushing a sled. Is that a big deal?
Russell Wilson has missed the first four practices of Pittsburgh Steelers training camp with a calf injury suffered while pushing a blocking sled during the team’s conditioning test on Wednesday. That’s led to some hyperbolic reactions, both in terms of anger at the Steelers for letting him perform that drill in the first place, and concern about how much it will impact the team’s season having him out.

As Wilson gets set to return on Tuesday, let’s examine how big of a deal his absence has been for the Steelers.
