PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have listed quarterback Russell Wilson (calf), wide receiver Roman Wilson (healthy scratch), running back Jaylen Warren (knee), outside linebacker Alex Highsmith (groin), offensive lineman Max Scharping (healthy scratch), tight end MyCole Pruitt (knee) and running back/kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson as inactive for Sunday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Kyle Allen will backup Justin Fields, while Wilson will be the emergency third quarterback, the same setup since the start of the season.

Wilson has been dealing with a lingering calf injury since the start of training camp. He re-injured his calf at the Thursday practice prior to the season opener against the Atlanta Falcons, and has been inactive for all five games. Wilson’s participation in practice picked up this week, but it appears he’s still a week away.

Steelers left guard Isaac Seumalo will make his season debut after missing the first four games with a pectoral injury.

“I feel pretty good,” Seumalo said on Friday. “I’ll let Coach Tomlin decide on that, but I felt good the past couple of days.”

Seumalo suffered the pectoral injury during a late-August practice. He’s not worried about rust.

“I’ve got a lot of experience under my belt,” he said. “Even last year when I had the shoulder deal, I barely practiced. I’ve always been pretty good at mentally staying in it and physically staying on top of being in shape and all that good stuff.”

The Steelers elevated wide receiver Brandon Johnson and running back Jonathan Ward for Sunday night’s game against the Cowboys. Both will see their first action of the season.

Johnson got a helmet over Roman Wilson, who appears not to be ready yet after missing nearly all of training camp and the first two games with a high ankle sprain. This is the third straight game that he’s been a healthy scratch. The Steelers had only four wide receivers active against the Los Angeles Chargers and Indianapolis Colts. They’ll have five receivers active against Dalls.

Johnson spent the last two seasons with the Denver Broncos, recording 25 catches for 326 yards and five touchdowns. He was cut in late August as part of the Broncos’ trim down from 91 to 53 players.

Aaron Shampklin, who was promoted to the active roster this week, will serve as the No. 2 running back behind Najee Harris. Ward will be the No. 3 RB.

The Cowboys will be without All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons (ankle), defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence (foot) and wide receiver Brandin Cooks. The Cowboys officially ruled out Parsons on Friday. All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs (ankle) is active.
