Ryan Shazier Surprises Steelers Season-Ticket Holders with Heinz Field Seats

Tim Dougherty has been a Steelers season-ticket holder since 1973. He passed his fandom on to his son Pat, and the two have been attending games together for the last 16 season.

Unfortunately, the last few years have been challenging for the Dougherty family, preventing them from attending as many games as they would have liked. Tim’s wife Maura passed away last October and he himself was diagnosed with cancer. He was unable to attend any games last season while he underwent treatment.

The father and son duo were looking forward to getting back to Heinz Field this, but that seems unlikely due to COVID-19 While they might not be able to see their team in person, former Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier brought a piece of Heinz Field.

Partnering with Pepsi for their “Every Game is a Home Game” campaign, Shazier surprised Tim and Pat at home, delivering them their actual stadium seats.

“We know you can’t make it to the games this year, so we wanted to bring the seats to you guys,” Shazier said.
