The Steelers revealed new game day features at Acrisure Stadium for this season on Thursday. The new additions include next generation security screening at stadium gates, seven new food items, and the return of Game Day Tours after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Next generation security will speed up the process of fan entry into the stadium. Guests approaching the gates will be instructed not to remove any items from clear bags or pockets and walk through the security system while following the instructions of staff members at Acrisure Stadium.

Security line backups have plagued the stadium for years. Last season, they instituted changes to attempt to get fans to line up for entry earlier in order to get through security before game time, measures that were only partially successful.

There are also seven new food items at Acrisure Stadium for the season: Caliente Pizza, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, buffalo chicken nachos, Cuban sandwiches, pulled pork burger, spicy chicken waffles and mojo pork nachos.

Fans will of course also notice the changes to the signage as Acrisure replaces Heinz as the stadium’s naming rights sponsor and the removal of the ketchup bottles atop the scoreboards.

The Steelers’ first preseason game is on Saturday against the Seattle Seahawks. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
