The Steelers have activated center Maurkice Pouncey from the COVID-19 reserve list, the team announced on Friday.

Pouncey was placed on the list on Dec. 2 and missed both of the team’s last two games against Baltimore on Dec. 2 and Washington on Dec. 7. Without Pouncey and starting running back James Conner, the Steelers had their lowest two-game rushing output of the season.

The 31-year-old leader of Pittsburgh’s offensive line, Pouncey has started 131 games for the Steelers in his 11-year career. Third-year pro J.C. Hassenauer replaced Pouncey in Pittsburgh’s starting lineup.

With Pouncey’s activation, the Steelers are down to one player on the COVID-19 reserve list, inside linebacker Vince Williams.

Pittsburgh’s active roster now stands at 54 players, as players coming off the COVID list are eligible for a temporary roster exemption. They will have to make at least one corresponding move before Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
