The Steelers activated inside linebacker Vince Williams from the COVID-19 reserve list on Wednesday, the team announced.

Williams, 30, missed two games after testing positive for the virus. Williams tweeted during his absence that he was dealing with symptoms of the disease. He was placed on the list on Dec. 10.

During Williams’ absence, Marcus Allen and Avery Williamson started both games at inside linebacker. Robert Spillane, who had been starting alongside Williams, also missed both games with a knee injury.

With Williams’ activation, the Steelers no longer have any players on the COVID-19 reserve list, the first time in over a month that has been the case.

Williams will likely start on Sunday against Indianapolis. Even after the two-game absence, he remains third on the team with 63 tackles and second with 14 tackles for loss.
