Published

on

All 91 is a Pittsburgh Steelers Now series profiling each of the 91 members of the Steelers 2019 training camp roster.

39 • Malik Williams, first-year running back

Last year: Missed the 2018 season after being waived/injured by the Atlanta Falcons with a shoulder injury in training camp. Was originally signed as a UDFA out of Louisville in 2018.

Stats: Finished with 18 carries for 55 yards and a touchdown in preseason action with Atlanta. Also caught two passes for 35 yards.

Accolades, Highlights:

Camp outlook: At 6-foot-3 and 221 pounds, Williams is the biggest of the Steelers’ running backs and has an upright running style that leads to violent collisions, but also allows him to get up the field quickly.

Projected role: It’s probably a battle for the practice squad for the Steelers running backs behind Benny Snell on the depth chart.
