Steelers Among Favorites to Land Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders
The Pittsburgh Steelers are among the teams with the best odds to land Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to do their homework on the 2025 NFL Draft’s quarterback class as the Aaron Rodgers saga drags on. And now there is growing belief they could land one of the top quarterbacks in Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders.
According to DraftKings, the Steelers have the second-best odds to draft Sanders, along with the New York Giants and behind the New Orleans Saints.
Pittsburgh didn’t seem to be too interested in Sanders after deciding to not send most of its top brass to Boulder for the Colorado pro day last week. But that belief has since changed as the Steelers are set to host Sanders on a pre-draft visit on Thursday.
Some believe it’s simply a move to put pressure on Rodgers to make a decision, but many around the league have begun entertaining the idea of Sanders taking a bit of a fall on Day 1 of the draft.
It’s a bit of a surprising take since Sanders is viewed as the consensus No. 2 quarterback prospect after throwing for 7,364 yards, 64 touchdowns and 13 interceptions over the past two seasons at Colorado.

However, if he were to make it past the Giants, who own the No. 3 overall pick, and Saints, who are slated to pick at No. 9, the Steelers could be very much in play to land him.
At that point, Pittsburgh’s biggest worry would be another team trying to jump it to snag Sanders. That could be a problem since the team doesn’t own a second-round pick after trading for wide receiver DK Metcalf.
Either way, nobody should be completely ruling out Sanders to the Steelers, even if it still feels a bit far-fetched with just two weeks until the start of the 2025 NFL Draft.
