Steelers Can Clinch AFC North with Win But Top Seed Hopes Fading

The Pittsburgh Steelers can clinch the division title Monday with a win over the Cincinnati Bengals or a Cleveland Browns loss.

It would be the Steelers’ first AFC North title since 2017. Pittsburgh can also clinch the division if they and the Browns each tie their respective games this weekend.

Pittsburgh clinched a playoff birth with the Miami Dolphins loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last week, snapping a two-year drought of missing the postseason.

Their last playoff appearance also came in 2017, a disappointing Divisional Round loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars at home.

Unfortunately for the Steelers, the top seed and first-round bye are fading out of reach following their two-game losing skid to Washington and the Buffalo Bills.

Kansas City, who have the best record in the NFL at 11-1, can clinch the the first-round bye with a win over the New Orleans Saints, plus a Steelers loss and a Bills loss or tie.
