🏈 Rich Eisen Show: Mike Tomlin said on the Rich Eisen Show that the Steelers had Clinton Portis in this week to speak with the rookies about his story. Despite making $40 million in his nine-year NFL career, the former Washington and Denver Broncos running back filed for bankruptcy in December of 2015, claiming he had debts of more than $5 million that he couldn’t afford to pay. In January of 2022, Portis was sentenced to six months in federal prison and six months of home confinement for his part in defrauding a health care benefit program for retired NFL veterans. Tomlin told Eisen that the organization has talked to the rookies about money management, nutrition, social media savviness and community relations this week.

🏈 Good Morning Football: Kenny Pickett was named the fifth-best quarterback under the age of 25 by GMFB. Pickett was behind Justin Fields, Brock Purdy, Trevor Lawrence and Jalen Hurts.

Omar Khan said on the Pat McAfee Show that Kenny Pickett “wants to be great and his work ethic is second to none.”

🏈 The Houston Texans worked out former Steelers defensive lineman Carlos Davis, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston. Davis worked out for the Jacksonville Jaguars at their rookie minicamp last week. Davis, who played at Nebraska, was a seventh-round pick by the Steelers in 2020. He has 12 career tackles, three for losses and one sack.

🎂 Happy Birthday to former Steelers offensive lineman Craig Wolfley, born on May 19, 1958 in Buffalo, New York. Wolfley was selected by the Steelers in the fifth round out of Syracuse in the 1980 NFL Draft. Wolfley went on to start 102 games for the Steelers from 1980-1989. Wolfley is currently the color analyst for the Steelers Radio Network game day broadcasts, a position he’s held since 2021. He previously was a sideline analyst for 19 seasons on the Steelers Radio Network.

🎥 The NFL official Twitter account posted a throwback clip of Jerome Bettis’ famous stat line from the Steelers’ Week 1 win over the Oakland Raiders in 2004. Despite having three touchdowns, Bettis rushed for only one yard on five carries.
