Steelers Daily Links: Career Year for Heyward, Khan Wins First?

Published

on

Steelers Cam Heyward

๐Ÿˆ Cameron Heyward has a 90.0 Pro Football Focus grade this season, which is the ninth-best among all defensive players.ย This would be his fifth year with a grade of 89.0+ in the past six seasons.

๐Ÿˆ Through three games with the Chicago Bears, Chase Claypool has caught only five passes for 32 yards with zero touchdowns. It looks like Omar Khan may have fleeced the Bears by getting a second-round pick, which is currently projected to be the 34th overall selection.

๐Ÿˆ The Steelers are 13-20-1 since the Baltimore Ravens exposed them in Week 12 of the 2020 season. Pittsburgh won the game, 19-14, but the offense was lifeless. The 11-0 Steelers lost their first game of the season to Washington the following week. Things have just gone downhill since then, especially on offense.

๐Ÿˆ Mason Rudolph worked with the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) โ€” Caring for the families of America’s fallen heroes, to surprise the family of fallen Navy service member James Philip Buriak with tickets to Super Bowl LVII. Rudolph surprised the family prior to Sunday’s Steelers-Bengals game at Acrisure Stadium. โ€œI loved to be a part of it,โ€ Rudolph said. โ€œWhat an opportunity to make someoneโ€™s day. She and her father-in-law were just overjoyed, they were emotional. It was a pleasure to meet them and say thank you for his service.โ€

๐Ÿˆ The Steelers are 27th in total offense and 28th in total defense. Those numbers pretty much sum up why they’re currently a 3-7 football team.

๐Ÿˆ In his first five full games played in the NFL (not counting the Tampa Bay game he was injured in), Kenny Pickett has attempted 206 passes. Ben Roethlisberger attempted 209 passes in his first 10 starts.

๐Ÿˆ Larry Ogunjobi spent Tuesday night providing dinner to families at the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh.ย He also provided gift cards for each family to go grocery shopping for their Thanksgiving meals.

๐Ÿˆ Steelers players teamed up with players from the Pirates and Penguins to tackle hunger byย handing out Thanksgiving meals to families.ย “To me, we’re thankful to be able to help these families during this time, trying to spread some holiday cheer, bring some smiles and just have a good time — make sure these families have food for the holidays,” Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky said.
