Steelers Daily Links: Donnie Iris at Opener, Takk McKinley off Market

The Pittsburgh Steelers pregame will be led by Donnie Iris at Acrisure Stadium this Sunday, while the Tennessee Titans scooped up one of the top free agent edge rushers remaining.

 Legendary Western Pennsylvania-based recording artist Donnie Iris will sing the national anthem at the Steelers home opener on Sunday against the New England Patriots.

 Actor Patrick Fabian from Better Call Saul will lead a Terrible Towel twirl before the game. Fabian is a Pittsburgh native that grew up in Central Pa. and attended Penn State.

 The United States Navy will provide a flight of F-5N Tiger II fighter jets for a military flyover.

 Three yers ago on Friday, the Steelers acquired safety Minkah Fitzpatrick from the Miami Dolphins. Since then, he’s had 12 interceptions, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, four defensive touchdowns — and one very important blocked extra point.

 The Miami Dolphins put right tackle Austin Jackson on the injured reserve list with an ankle injury. The Steelers play the Dolphins in Week 7.

 Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, injured in Thursday night’s loss to the Chiefs, has fractured rib cartilage.

 The Titans signed free agent edge rusher Takk McKinley to their practice squad, replacing David Anenih, who the Steelers signed this week. McKinley is one of the few veteran edge rushers that the Steelers could have chosen to help replace T.J. Watt.
