Steelers Daily Links: Ketchup Bottle Returns, Najee Boxing

WPXI: Pittsburgh Steelers president Art Rooney II told Jenna Harner that one of the giant Heinz Ketchup bottles is headed back to Acrisure Stadium. Rooney said Gate C will now be the Heinz Gate, and they’re working on having one of the ketchup bottles displayed there.

Art Rooney II also revealed to Jenna Harner that former general manager Kevin Colbert has “picked up the ball” with the team’s Alumni Programs. “Having Kevin be willing to spend time on that has really been an asset,” Rooney said.

On this date in 2009, the Steelers captured an unprecedented sixth Lombardi Trophy by defeating the Arizona Cardinals, 27-23, in Super Bowl XLIII. The game is considered by many as a top-5 Super Bowl. James Harrison’s 100-yard pick-six right before halftime and Ben Roethlisberger’s remarkable 6-yard game-winning touchdown pass to Santonio Holmes in the back right corner of the end zone will forever live in Steelers lore.

ESPN: Matt Bowen ranked the top 50 available players heading into free agency in 2023. Cornerback Cam Sutton, who was the only Steeler to make Bowen’s list, came in at No. 28. “Sutton, a third-round pick in 2017, is coming off his best pro season, as he finished with three interceptions and 15 pass breakups,” Bowen wrote. “He’s a scheme-versatile corner who can find the ball in zone coverage or stick to wide receivers in man, with the transition speed to close on throws. Defensive backs with this type of ball production don’t stay on the market for long.”

Once again this offseason, Najee Harris is working on his cardio by sparring in the boxing ring. Harris posted on Instagram that he’s training with Kris “Lightning” Lopez in East Oakland, Calif.

Steelers fourth-round pick Calvin Austin III was running at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Tuesday. On Oct. 26, the Steelers placed Austin on injured reserve for the remainder of the season after he aggravated the foot injury that caused him to miss the entire preseason. It appears that Austin is on the right track in his recovery.

Watch: T.J. Watt and his wife, Dani, recently stopped by UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh for a fun-filled visit. “We were able to provide some laughs and smiles and also get some in return,” Watt said.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley somehow made the Pro Bowl as an alternate over Kenny Pickett.

Pittsburgh area artist Tempy Moore created a painting that embraced the Steelers fanbase with a sea of Terrible Towels in the reflection, along with paying tribute to the late Mac Miller.
