Steelers Daily Links: Kevin Colbert’s New Role, Draft Hats Revealed

The Steelers 2023 NFL Draft hats were revealed on Monday while Kevin Colbert has a new role within the Steelers organization.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Former general manager Kevin Colbert now helps ex-Steelers players transition to life after football. Colbert leads the “Lend a Hand” program for the organization. “It helps me,” Colbert told Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “Helping them gives you a purpose.” As explained by Dulac, Colbert conducts monthly virtual meetings that help players get the assistance they might need, from educational opportunities to financial aid to wellness to professional job training.

Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers revealed the 2023 NFL Draft hats for the team on the team’s pro shop. The designs this year feature a sleek design where the letters are embroidered with the logo behind them. It has garnered mixed reactions thus far from the public at large.

Pro Football Focus: The Steelers, Patriots and Texans have beat their Vegas win total projection the most often in the last 17 years.

CBS Sports: Only four safeties had 70+ tackles, 2+ sacks, and 5+ passes defensed last season — Derwin James
Terrell Edmunds, Talanoa Hufanga and Jayron Kearse.

PFF asked their followers on Twitter to rank elite pass rushers such as Micah Parsons, Haasan Riddick, Myles Garrett and Nick Bosa. To say the least, it was curious that T.J. Watt wasn’t listed.

The Twitter account posted a throwback clip to when the Steelers ran a toss pitch, pitch back underneath to the running back (Power) against the New York Giants in 2004.
