🏈 Like James Harrison, Ben Roethlisberger also thought the unnecessary roughness penalty on Minkah Fitzpatrick in the Colts game was a joke.

“I thought the Minkah hit on the sideline was an atrocious call,” Roethlisberger said on his podcast. “Minkah, you are exactly right. You play the game the right way. You care about player safety. You care about the rules, the integrity of the game. I thought that was a good hit. I thought he hit him with his shoulder. I don’t think he launched. I think, if anything, Minkah kind of bounced off him. That changed the game because that’s a huge play.”

🏈 Former NFL head coach Rex Ryan was stunned that the announcers on Sunday suggested that the Steelers will go with Russell Wilson once he’s healthy.

“Bad game. Look, Justin Fields, by the way, great game. Announcers, oh, you think they’ll go to Russell? What? Justin Fields wasn’t playing defensive tackle or safety in that game. Are you kidding me? Dude had like 450 yards! When’s the last time Pittsburgh had 450 yards? I mean, that’s a great sign that Justin Fields is just balling, getting better and better,” Ryan said on Get Up.

🏈 Pat McAfee said Ben Roethlisberger wanted to get back out there for the two-minute drill at the end of the Steelers-Colts game on Sunday. Roethlisberger was at the game with McAfee.

“Ben was in the suite. It was the first time all game where he looked at us and he was like, ‘This is what I miss most. Being down and having the ball with two minutes left and make a game-winning drive to win the football game. This is the only time I really miss football.’”

🏈 Ben Roethlisberger called out the center/quarterback issues with the Steelers on his podcast.

“You know what can’t happen anymore? We can’t have center/quarterback exchange issues,” Roethlisberger said. “We can’t have guys stepping on his feet, him bobbling the ball. I feel like they’re afraid to go under center because they don’t trust the center/quarterback exchange. We went for it on fourth down. We’re in the gun.”

🏈 Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky thinks Justin Fields should be named the Steelers starting quarterback.

“Start Justin Fields. Start Justin Fields. I mean, Justin Fields has only gotten better every single week,” Orlovsky said. “They were only in the game yesterday because, in many ways, of the play of Justin Fields. In no way was he part of the problem yesterday. Russell Wilson’s healthy, all due respect. Justin Fields has been given the opportunity. He’s done nothing but take advantage of it. And anything that people wanted to say about him as far as, you can’t do this, or Justin can’t do this. He’s disproven it. He’s their starting quarterback, and this team will be meaningful in December because of his play.”
