Steelers Daily: QB Questions Remain, High on Highsmith

Steelers OLB Alex Highsmith

Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Alex Highsmith could be posted for third-year leap, quarterback questions remain and more.

🏈 Chris Carter writes that Alex Highsmith could be poised for a big season as teams do their best to limit the impact of reigning NFL sack champ and Defensive Player of the year T.J. Watt.

🏈 The Steelers’ three-headed monster at quarterback isn’t gaining much outside approval. The Madden 23 ratings for the game’s most important position were released on Friday, and all of Mitch Trubisky, Mason Rudolph and Kenny Pickett landed in the 60s.

🏈 Former Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger will throw out the first pitch for the Pittsburgh Pirates game on Friday.

🏈 Former Steelers defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs signed a contract for the 2022 season with the Detroit Lions. Buggs was the Steelers’ sixth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Alabama and played in 29 games over three season before being waived on Jan. 8. He finished the season on the Las Vegas Raiders’ practice squad.

🏈 The Baltimore Ravens placed six players on the Physically Unable to Perform list to start training camp: left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle), cornerback Marcus Peters (knee), running backs J.K. Dobbins (knee) and Gus Edwards (knee), outside linebacker Tyus Bowser (Achilles) and safety Ar’Darius Washington (foot).
