Steelers Friday Night Lights Practice Cancelled

UNITY TWP., Pa — The Steelers have cancelled their Friday Night Lights practice due to inclement weather. Throughout the entire night, there was heavy rain, but when the lightning started coming down as well, the Steelers called the practice. They will return to the field on Saturday at 1:55 for the afternoon practice before taking a one day break.

The Friday Night Lights practice is a once a year event, so it being cancelled is unfortunate. But rain is supposed to be in Latrobe area for at least the next two hours. There are flash flood warnings out in Latrobe as well.

The fans were immediately sent to their cars and out of the stands. Prior to 7 P.M., the practice was cancelled. As such, the players never even made it to the stadium.

Mike Tomlin acknowledged on Thursday after that practice was ended early. Rain is forecasted all the way through Wednesday, so the Steelers will have to work through the inclement weather throughout the next week, with a hope that it does not turn into thunderstorms.

Before they play the Seahawks next Saturday, they will need to fight some of the bad weather that Latrobe brings with it. That will be the first real in game test that the players receiver in live action.
