PITTSBURGH — It looks as if the Pittsburgh Steelers escaped significant injuries for two starters who left Sunday’s 28-27 Steelers win over the Washington Commanders with injuries. Both cornerback Donte Jackson and running back Najee Harris are expected to be able to suit up this coming Sunday, when the Steelers host the Baltimore Ravens.

Harris suffered a right ankle injury late in the game. He said on Sunday night that he got it rolled up under the pile. Harris tried to get off the field and fell to his knees in pain before eventually recovering, walking to the sideline, and even returning to the game. He said that he had scans scheduled for Monday to determine the seriousness of the injury moving forward. Head coach Mike Tomlin said on Tuesday that it’s not expected to be major.

Jaylen Warren replaced Harris while he was out with injury and carried the ball well before fumbling at the 1-yard line trying for a go-ahead touchdown. Cordarrelle Patterson played in his first game back from an ankle injury on Sunday. Jonathan Ward and Aaron Shampklin are on the practice squad.

Harris has notably never missed a game in his Steelers career. He has started 60 consecutive games since being drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Alabama. Harris has been playing some of his best football, with three straight 100-yard games before being injured against Washington.

Pittsburgh Steelers CB Donte Jackson

The same can be said for Jackson, who left the game in the third quarter with a hamstring injury and did not return. It’s been a season full of minor injuries for Jackson. He’s been playing through an AC sprain suffered in Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers, but has yet to miss a start, even though he did not finish two games. He’s also expected to play this coming week.

“Donte Jackson, I just walked by, he feels good today, but feeling good today and executing in totality tomorrow is two different things,” Tomlin said on Tuesday. “We’ll leave it day-by-day in those instances. They may be limited at the early portions of this thing from a prep standpoint, but we’re not anticipating a lack of availability on any of those guys, Naj included. We’ll see what Wednesday looks like, but we’re pretty comfortable as I stand here today that we’ll include those guys in our planning at the latter part of theek and have them available for action.”
