A quarterback is a 5/7 odds favorite to be selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2022 NFL Draft according to oddsmakers at BetOnline. They are just the latest to suggest that the Steelers are extremely likely to take a quarterback.

The Steelers spoke about the quarterback draft class in their press conference on Monday, only furthering the belief that the team will draft Ben Roethlisberger’s heir.

Most experts are expecting the Steelers to take one of Liberty’s Malik Willis, Pittsburgh’s Kenny Pickett, Cincinnati’s Desmond Ridder or Ole Miss’s Matt Corral. North Carolina’s Sam Howell has also been linked to the Steelers, but very rarely as a first-round pick.

The Steelers are in need of other positions too and BetOnline acknowledges that in their odds despite quarterback being the heavy favorite. Following the quarterback position, offensive lineman is the second favorite at 5/1 with defensive lineman coming in third at 11/2.

Cornerback is fourth with 7/1 odds followed by safety and wide receiver at 17/2 odds. A linebacker is next with 22/1 odds while the remaining positions all have long shot 100/1 odds.

The Steelers will pick No. 20 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. The draft is set to start at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday with the broadcast of the first round on ABC, ESPN, NFL Network and ESPN’s streaming app.

The second and third rounds will be on Saturday while the final four rounds will take place on Sunday. This year, the draft takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada after being held in Cleveland, Ohio in 2021.
