The NFL has fined Steelers guard Trai Turner $15,450 for spitting on a Raiders player in their Week 2 matchup.

The altercation resulted in Turner getting ejected from the game, which caused a brief pause to the game altogether. Multiple Steelers and Raiders players were separated and Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was livid on the sideline following Turner’s ejection.

Turner took to his Twitter earlier in the week to thank Mike Tomlin for defending him. The NFL said that no one from the scrum would be suspended.

Turner was signed in the offseason to replace David Decastro and be a veteran presence on the offensive line. Knowing he won’t miss any time due to suspension is big, but the Steelers need more from the unit as a whole to protect Ben Roethlisberger and open up running lanes for Najee Harris.
