The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting SMU defensive tackle Jared Harrison-Hunte for a pre-draft visit on Friday.

Harrison-Hunte follows his SMU teammate Elijah Roberts, who visited Pittsburgh on Tuesday. He is the seventh defensive lineman to make a pre-draft visit to Pittsburgh, including Roberts, Oregon’s Derrick Harmon and Jamaree Caldwell, Florida State’s Joshua Farmer, Iowa’s Yahya Black and Ole Miss’ J.J. Pegues.

Harrison-Hunte is a bit on the small side for a Steelers defensive lineman, checking in at 6-foot-3 3/8 and 290 pounds at the 2025 NFL Combine, but he makes up for with with extreme athleticism.

He ran a 4.86-second 40-yard dash, in the 95th percentile of defensive linemen, a 4.65 second shuttle, 7.76-second three-cone, 32-inch vertical and 9-foot-3 broad jump for an overall 9.20 Relative Athletic Score.

Harrison-Hunte spent five seasons at Miami before transferring to SMU in 2024. He had the best year of his career by far, recording 6.5 sacks, 42 tackles, nine tackles for loss — all career highs — and also had his first career interception.

The Steelers previously scouted Harrison-Hunte at the 2025 Shrine Bowl. He is currently the No. 296 overall player on the NFL Mock Draft Database consensus big board.

In addition to Harrison-Hunte, Texas A&M outside linebacker Shemar Stewart and Kansas State running back DJ Giddens also took visits to UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Thursday. The other visitors were previously reported.
