Steelers Hosts Veterans during Heroes at Heinz Field Event
Even football players have heroes.
On Tuesday night, the Pittsburgh Steelers honored some of those that they look up to by hosting veterans from Veterans Leadership Program, The Mission Continues, Veterans Breakfast Club and Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard at Heinz Field for Heroes at Heinz Field night.
The evening including a little bit of football, with passing, receiving and field goal stations, and plenty of 1 on 1 time between the players and the veterans. Steelers Carlos Davis, Zach Gentry, J.C. Hassenauer, Christian Kuntz, Mason Rudolph, Robert Spillane and Cody White participated.

“It’s a privilege to meet and greet them, throw some balls around, spend the afternoon with them,” Rudolph told Steelers.com. “I have a great deal of respect for anyone who serves our country, gives their lives.

“This is amazing,” said Rob Hamilton, Executive Director of Veterans Place. “We had our veterans having a great time and really showing them the community is behind them and supports them especially with everything going on in the community right now.”
The Steelers have been hosting the event for 13 years.
