PITTSBURGH — Steelers inside linebacker Vince Williams left the team’s home opener against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday with a hamstring injury and will not return, the team announced.

Williams started at inside linebacker, where has been rotation with free agent signing Mark Barron and first-round pick Devin Bush.

He was also assigned the team’s green-dotted radio communication helmet at the start of the game, after outside linebacker T.J. Watt wore it in the opener against New England.

Williams had two tackles before leaving the game in the first quarter. He was originally listed as questionable to return before being downgraded to out.

He was replaced by Bush in the Steelers’ base and nickel defenses.

The Steelers also lost starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the first half.
