Steelers Injury Updates: Buggs, Claypool, Finney, Haden, Spillane All on Estimated Practice Report

The Pittsburgh Steelers did not practice on Monday, the day after their win over the Baltimore Ravens, but because they play again on Thursday, the team must put out an estimated practice report to comply with NFL rules.

The Steelers estimated that eight players would not have participated in Monday’s session, including nose tackle Isaiah Buggs (ankle), injured wide receiver Chase Claypool (toe), center/guard B.J. Finney (back), cornerback Joe Haden (left mid-foot sprain) and inside linebacker Robert Spillane (knee).

Buggs and Haden missed the team’s game against the Ravens with their injuries, while Finney was hurt early in that game and did not return. Spillane had been on the COVID-19 Reserve List before being reinstated earlier on Monday. Claypool has been playing through the toe issue for one time.

Montravius Adams replaced Buggs at nose tackle, John Leglue filled in at left guard for Finney, Ahkello Witherspoon replaced Haden and Buddy Johnson was activated to replace Spillane as linebacker depth.

The Steelers also estimated that defensive tackle Cam Heyward, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and right guard Trai Turner would have been given the day off.

The team will actually practice on Tuesday, their first of two sessions before taking on the Vikings on Thursday night.
