Steelers Injury Updates: WR Chase Claypool Misses Practice with Toe Injury

Wide receiver Chase Claypool did not participate in practice for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday, though the team held only a walk-through session and not a full workout while dealing with a short week in advance of the team’s Week 10 game against the Detroit Lions.

Claypool suffered a toe injury in the team’s Week 9 win over the Chicago Bears that required an MRI. The team has not released an update on his status since the test on Tuesday.

With fellow wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster already out long term, Cody White would like draw into the starting lineup in place of Claypool if he is unable to go come Sunday.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger also did not participate while dealing with a right shoulder injury, but he does not usually practice on Wednesdays, at any rate.

The Steelers estimated that tight end Eric Ebron would have been a limited participant, had there been a full practice. He is working his way back after missing the last two gams with a hamstring injury.

Defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs (hip), defensive tackle Cam Heyward (ankle) and inside linebacker Robert Spillane (ankle) were all estimated as full participants.
