Steelers outside linebacker Alex Highsmith announced on Saturday via Twitter that he married the love of his life.
Highsmith got engaged to his girlfriend Alyssa Ungrady in May of 2021. “You are everything I’ve ever prayed for,” Highsmith wrote in an Instagram post. “The greatest blessing I could ever receive. I love you Alyssa Ungrady and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you. Here’s to FOREVER.”
Highsmith wrote earlier this month on Instagram, “Alyssa you are the greatest blessing God has gifted me with and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you, June 25th can’t come soon enough!! I love you with every part of me.”

Highsmith met Alyssa Ungrady at Charlotte where they were both athletes. Ungrady was on the track and cross country team.
Highsmith’s dad, Sam, posted a picture on Twitter of him and Alex at the wedding with a caption stating, “Generational Team Highsmith!”

Highsmith was selected by the Steelers in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. In two seasons, Highsmith has recorded 122 total tackles (76 solos), eight sacks, 20 tackles for loss, 21 quarterback hits, one forced fumble, one pass defended and one interception.
