With starting quarterback Kenny Pickett likely not to suit up and newfound team cohesion fueling a playoff push on the other side, the betting lines for the game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Carolina Panthers have moved further in the latter’s favor.

The Steelers opened up as 1.5-point underdogs on FanDuel Sportsbook, but as of the time of this writing, Carolina is favored by another point on top of that. The Panthers are -148 on the money line and Pittsburgh +126.

FanDuel has a special offer for Steelers now fans who sign up today, allowing you to bet $5 to win $150.

Carolina had such a poor start out of the gate this go-round that its head coach, Matt Rhule, was shown the door in October — less than three seasons into a seven-year, $62 million contract. Interim coach Steve Wilks, a native North Carolinian who’d previously led Arizona for a campaign, took over as interim head coach and has done well enough to be considered to keep the job at season’s end.

In an NFC South grouping that has been far from the NFL’s most competitive division, Wilks has kept the Panthers in the playoff mix — even after trading away star running back Christian McCaffrey and wide receiver Robbie Anderson. Not to mention, the team cycled through three passers — Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, and P.J. Walker — before recently settling on Darnold.

Carolina has won three of its previous four outings, including a victory over Seattle last week. Meanwhile, the Steelers hopes for the postseason began to fade with a close home loss to arch rival Baltimore. Pickett was replaced with veteran Mitch Trubisky after suffering a concussion and the results weren’t what Pittsburgh was looking for.

Trubisky’s three interceptions factored into the defeat, which started the discussion on whether to start him or Mason Rudolph against the Panthers. It appears that Trubisky will get the nod — and hope to avoid any ill-advised decisions.
