The Pittsburgh Steelers are now favored in Monday night’s matchup against the Cleveland Browns after opening as 3.5-point favorites.

Two significant news items have come out since the line opened. First, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger publicly acknowledged for the first time that Monday’s game will be his last at Heinz Field with the Steelers.

But even after that revelation, the Steelers were generally considered to be about field goal underdogs to their closest rivals.

Sunday afternoon, though, Cleveland was eliminated from contention in the AFC postseason, and that seemed to send the line spinning toward Pittsburgh. In Vegas Insider’s consensus line, the Steelers were still three-point underdogs as of 7:20 p.m., just minutes after the Los Angeles Chargers’ victory eliminated the Browns.

In five hours, the line moved five points, with the Steelers now considered to be two-point favorites as of just after midnight Monday morning.
