PITTSBURGH — PittsburghSteelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt left his team’s game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday in the second quarter. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game with a left knee injury.

Watt played in each of the Steelers’ first four defensive possessions before leaving the game in the middle of the fourth series. He was looked at by team trainers on the sideline before heading to the locker room.

Watt did not have any obvious sign of injury before leaving the game. He was replaced on the first-team defense by Delontae Scott.

The Steelers have already had depth issues at outside linebacker. Fellow starter Alex Highsmith has been out several weeks with a rib injury.

Scott, Derrek Tuszka and Hamilcar Rashed Jr. have been battling to be the team’s backup outside linebackers after Genard Avery was cut earlier with week.

The Steelers also lost starting wide receiver Diontae Johnson earlier in the game to a shoulder injury. Johnson was ruled out of the remainder of the game.
