The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Miami (Fla.) outside linebacker Quincy Roche with the No. 216 pick in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft on Saturday.

Roche is a 6-foot-3, 245-pound edge rusher from Randallstown, Maryland. He played at Miami in 2020 as a redshirt senior after transferring from Temple.

Roche started 10 games for the Hurricanes and finished with 14.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks while earning third-team All-ACC honors. He also forced two fumbles and recovered three.

In three seasons with the Owls, Roche had 26 sacks and 39.5 tackles for loss, six forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries.

The Steelers need to replenish their depth at outside linebacker after losing starter Bud Dupree and backup Ola Adeniyi in free agency this offseason. Roche will join Cassius Marsh as the primary backups behind T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith.
