The Steelers have placed practice squad safety Karl Joseph on the COVID-19 reserve list, the team announced on Monday.

Joseph has played in two games as a member of the practice squad this season, in Week 5 against Denver and in Week 11 at Los Angeles. He has two tackles.

A former first-round pick of the Oakland Raiders out of West Virginia, Joseph has played in 65 career games and made 49 starts.

The addition makes eight Steelers players impact by COVID-19, all of which have been added to the list in the last week. Joseph joins tackle Zach Banner, inside linebackers Marcus Allen and Devin Bush, nose tackle Isaiah Buggs, running back Anthony McFarland Jr., practice squad guard Malcolm Pridgeon and practice squad wide receiver Steven Sims as Pittsburgh players impact by the virus.

If Joseph has been vaccinated, he will have the opportunity to test out of the protocol before the Steelers’ Week 17 game against the Cleveland Browns on Monday.
