Following Stephon Tuitt’s surprise retirement announcement Wednesday, his Pittsburgh Steelers teammates took to social media to react, reminisce and share their well wishes has No. 91 enters his next chapter.
“My brother made a decision that was best for him! You have made me a better player and always enjoyed playing beside you.” Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward said on Instagram. “As a teammate I was selfish in wanting you back but God has bigger goals for you! You are a father, husband, friend, son, brother and you will continue to keep shining! Plus now you are a graduate of Notre Dame! I’m so proud of you man can’t wait to see what next for you.”
While many fans shared their support for Tuitt, others were not as kind. Former Steelers linebacker did not appreciate the reaction from that small contingent.
“Some of this stuff I’m seeing about Tuitt is sick,” Williams tweeted. “Y’all really love football that much? Like really?”
