PITTSBURGH — Russell Wilson and the Pittsburgh Steelers had their best day under Arthur Smith on the second day of mandatory minicamp. It seemed different as Wilson engineered a touchdown drive in the two-minute drill that Mike Tomlin even shouted out at the end of practice.

Wilson and the wide receivers continue to work together, with guys like George Pickens, Calvin Austin III, and Van Jefferson getting work off to the side with each other. Austin has impressed Wilson more than anyone, though, as he gets open consistently, which is a testament to what Austin is doing each day.

In addition, the linebacker room remains a strength, but how does the team plan to divide all the reps with Patrick Queen, Elandon Roberts, Payton Wilson, and a returning Cole Holcomb? Inside linebackers coach Aaron Curry talked about each player’s superpowers and how the team can use those to their advantage.

Additionally, Nick and Alan talked to the defensive assistants for takeaways across the defensive line and secondary, including Keeanu Benton, who appears poised for a breakout season.

All that and more in today’s Pittsburgh Steelers Practice Report.
