Steelers Promote Blaine Stewart to Assistant Wide Receivers Coach

Published

on

Blaine Stewart, who is the son of the late WVU head coach Bill Stewart, continues to move up the coaching ranks with the Steelers. Blaine has been promoted to assistant wide receivers coach after spending each of the previous three years as one of the team’s coaching assistants.

The official Twitter account for the James Madison University football program tweeted a congratulations to Blaine about the news.

Prior to this opportunity, Stewart mostly assisted in the daily operations of the offense and special teams units. His responsibilities included game preparation, video analysis and scouting of opponents.

Stewart played wide receiver at James Madison University (2013-15) before transferring to the University of Charleston (WV) to finish out his college career.

Working under Mike Tomlin is full circle for the Stewart family. Tomlin started his coaching career working on Bill Stewart’s staff at the Virginia Military Institute.
