AT STAKE

Is it hyperbole to say the entire 2022 season? The Steelers sit at 5-7 with five games to play. Five wins will certainly give them a good shot at a playoff spot. Four wins will leave them in the hunt. Anything less will have them spending most of January on their couches. The Steelers have two of their final five games against the Ravens, the only team above .500 remaining on the Steelers schedule. Baltimore enters Acrisure Stadium on Sunday without the services of quarterback Lamar Jackson (PCL sprain), but figures to have him ready for their rematch in Week 16. So if the Steelers are going to lose one of these final five games, this isn’t it.

TRANSACTIONS

The Steelers activated kicker Chris Boswell from the injured reserve list on Saturday and waived kicker Matthew Wright. They also signed outside linebacker Emeke Egbule to their practice squad and released running back Master Teague.

INJURY REPORT

Steelers OLB T.J. Watt (ribs) and Malik Reed (back) and WR Diontae Johnson (hip) had all initially been listed as questionable, but their statuses were updated on Saturday and now are all expected to play. Other than the players on the injured reserve list, the Steelers are at full strength.

FROM THE OTHER SIDE

This game is no less crucial for the Baltimore Ravens’ playoff picture. Entering Week 14, the Ravens are leading the AFC North at 8-4, through a tie-breaker lead over the Cincinnati Bengals. With a win, the Ravens will maintain that positioning.

A Ravens loss to the Steelers, combined with a Bengals win over the Cleveland Browns, would drop Baltimore not only out of the division lead, but potentially all the way down to the No. 7 seed. The Miami Dolphins are the current No. 6 seed at 8-4 and have a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Ravens. The New York Jets are 7-5 and the No. 7 seed, but the Ravens have the tie-breaker over New York.
