Najee Harris has already made Steelers history.

After entering the game only 37 yards away, rookie running back Najee Harris is now the first rookie to gain at least 1,000 yards from scrimmage in franchise history. A 6-yard reception in the 4th quarter of Pittsburgh’s Sunday Night Football game against the Chargers allowed Harris to surpass 1,000 total yards on the season.

At the time of the achievement, Harris had 38 yards on the ground and 15 as a receiver in the game. Despite making history, there was nothing to celebrate in the moment for Harris or the Steelers while in the midst of losing to Los Angeles.

Pittsburgh selected Harris out of Alabama with the 24th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
