As for Stephens, he has been with the team since Oct. 13 before being released on Wednesday. He has spent time with eight NFL teams, and originally signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati in 2018.

In corresponding moves, the Steelers terminated punter Drue Chrisman and long snapper Rex Sunahara from their practice squad.
