The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced the uniform numbers for their selections in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The club had previously announced that first-round offensive tackle Broderick Jones will wear No. 77, in honor of his fallen Georgia teammate Devin Willock.

No. 77 was last worn by backup guard/tackle Jesse Davis in 2022. Notable Steelers to wear that number include Steve Courson, Carlton Haselrig, Marcus Gilbert, Marvel Smith and Will Wolford.

Former Steelers cornerback and current team scouting assistant Ike Taylor said that Joey Porter Jr. will be wearing his old No. 24 on Tuesday.

Running back Benny Snell wore that jersey from 2019-22, and apparently will not be re-signed. In addition to Taylor, cornerback J.T. Thomas wore No. 24 with the Steelers, winning four Super Bowls in the 1970s.

Nose tackle Keeanu Benton will wear No. 95, which was most recently worn by Chris Wormley from 2020-22. Wormley also apparently will not be re-signed by the team. He suffered a late-season injury and may not be ready to play this offseason. Outside linebacker Greg Lloyd is the most notable No. 95 in team history.

Tight end Darnell Washington will wear No. 80, which was last worn by Tyler Vaughns in 2021. Most of the most famous 80s in team history have been wide receivers, including Plaxico Burress and Cedrick Wilson. Washington had asked to wear No. 0, which is being allowed in the NFL in 2022 for the first time in decades, but apparently, that request was not granted.

Linebacker Nick Herbig will wear No. 51, which was vacated this offseason by the release of Myles Jack, another player that apparently will not be returning to Pittsburgh. Several impactful Steelers linebackers have worn 51, including Super Bowl winners James Farrior and Loren Toews.

Cornerback Cory Trice will don No. 27, which had been worn by safety/linebacker Marcus Allen from 2018-22. That jersey has been worn by several important Steelers defensive backs such as Glen Edwards, Brent Alexander, Thomas Everett, Willie Williams and Dick Haley.

Finally, offensive lineman Spencer Anderson is set to suit up in No. 74, which was worn by backup tackle Trent Scott in 2022. Scott signed with the Washington Commanders in free agency. Terry Long, Willie Colon, Ray Pinney, John Brown, Nolan Harrison and Chris Hubbard are among the top Steelers players to wear those digits

Outside of Jones, the team’s first-round pick, the rest of the jersey numbers are issued provisionally, and players could change their number before the start of the season. So make your jersey purchases carefully.
