PITTSBURGH — Steelers right tackle Chukwuma Okorafor left his team’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, and is being evaluated for a concussion. He will not return to the game, the team announced.
Okorafor was injured late in the third quarter. He was hurt during a play that was blown dead after he was flagged for a false start. Okorafor went into the medical tent on the Pittsburgh sideline and was then taken to the locker room for further evaluation.
He was replaced on the field by veteran backup Joe Haeg. Okorafor had replaced Zach Banner in the starting lineup at the beginning of the season. Banner was placed on the injured reserve list before Week 1 while recovering from knee surgery.
The Steelers were already playing without a number of regulars, including receivers Diontae Johnson and JuJu Smith-Schuster, who left the game with a rib injury.
