Pittsburgh Steelers right tackle Zach Banner is currently on short-term injured reserve, but the timetable for his return sounds to be on schedule.
Joining The PM Team on 93.7 The Fan on Tuesday, Banner said that the plan is still for him to be activated for the Steelers’ Week 4 matchup with the Green Bay Packers.
Good news. Zach Banner says on @937theFan that the plan is still in place for him to be activated in week 4. For Steelers-Packers.— Andrew Fillipponi (@ThePoniExpress) September 14, 2021
Banner is continuing to recover from the torn ACL that prematurely ended his 2020 season, but did see limited action in the preseason.
It is unclear if Banner is still healing or suffered a setback in his recovery. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has been vague with regards to updates on Banner’s recovery.
The Steelers are currently starting last year’s right tackle Chukwuma Okorafor in Banner’s place. Rookie tackle Dan Moore Jr. is starting on the left side in place of Okorafor.
