Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick was ranked eighth in the top 10 defensive players in the NFL under the age of 25, according to NFL on Prime Video.

Fitzpatrick came to the Steelers in a trade from the Miami Dolphins early in the 2019 season that changed the Steelers defense for the better. He improved the team’s struggling secondary into a formidable one, and also made the entire Steelers defense one of the best in the NFL.

Since coming to Pittsburgh, Fitzpatrick has 11 interceptions and 260 total tackles, 180 solo, and four fumble recoveries. Those 11 interceptions and 260 tackles are the most by any Steelers defensive player in that time period.

For his efforts, he made the NFL First-Team All-Pro and the Pro Bowl in his first two seasons with the Steelers and is now widely known as one of the best safeties in football. It won’t be long before he gets his first big pay day, with a report coming out that the he and the Steelers are close to an agreement on an extension.

Fitzpatrick is one of only three AFC players on the list, with Las Vegas Raiders Second Team All-Pro defensive end Maxx Crosby at No. 6 and divisional rival Baltimore Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen at No. 10.

The Dallas Cowboys featured at No. 1 with 2021 NFL Defensive Rookie of Year linebacker Micah Parsons and at No. 7 with the NFL Interceptions leader last season, cornerback Trevon Diggs. San Francisco also has a duo of players on this list, with 2019 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year defensive end Joey Bosa at No. 2 and 2020 First-Team All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner right after at No. 3

Washington Commanders 2020 NFL Rookie of the Year defensive end Chase Young is ranked at No. 4, Atlanta Falcons cornerback 2021 Second-Team All-Pro A.J. Terrell at No. 5 and Chicago Bears linebacker, two-time Second-Team All-Pro, Roquan Baker at No. 9 to complete the top 10.

The NFL’s Thursday Night Football package is moving to Amazon Prime in 2022.
