The Pittsburgh Steelers have already begun their search for another wide receiver after trading George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday. According to multiple reports, they have checked in on the availability of a pair of Green Bay Packers wide receivers.

It was first reported by Andrew Fillipponi of Pittsburgh’s 93.7 The Fan that the Steelers inquired about Romeo Doubs.

Doubs, 25, is entering the final year of his rookie contract in 2025 and could prove to be the perfect complement to wide receiver DK Metcalf in Pittsburgh, standing at 6-foot-2, 204 pounds.

The former fourth-round pick (No. 132) has recorded 147 catches for 1,700 yards and 15 touchdowns through the first three years of his NFL career. His best season came in 2023 when he had a career-high 59 catches for 674 yards and eight touchdowns.

The second wide receiver the Steelers inquired about was Dontayvion Wicks, per Zachary Smith of Pittsburgh Sports Now.

Wicks, 23, has two years left on his rookie deal as a fifth-round pick (No. 159) in 2023. He has 78 catches for 996 yards and nine touchdowns over the past two seasons.

Wicks would bring a bit of a different skill set to Pittsburgh as more of a separator compared to the bigger-bodied Doubs, but both players would be intriguing additions to the Steelers depleted wide receiver room.

It remains to be seen if the Packers would be willing to part with either player, but they did add a pair of wide receivers (Matthew Golden and Savion Williams) with two of their first three picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Green Bay’s wide receiver room is now quite crowded with the likes of Doubs, Wicks, Golden, Williams, Jayden Reed, Christian Watson, Bo Melton and Mecole Hardman.

If the Packers don’t foresee any of those players as part of their long-term plans, Pittsburgh should do its best to pry one of them away.
